It is important to remember to make time for yourself in your busy schedule to avoid burnout. It is so easy to throw yourself into your work, taking care of others and forget that you need to take care of yourself too.
Being a therapist is hard work, not just the physical work, but it is hard sometimes to smile, be polite and listen to the woe’s of your clients while inside you are screaming ‘if that is all you have to worry about you live a charmed life!’ before you get to breaking point you really do need to make time for you.
If you are working in a salon then ideally you need to set aside time to treat each other, this can be after hours or when the salon is closed. If you work by yourself you really need to arrange a time where you can just stop and treat yourself to some ‘me time’.
You know the benefits of the treatments you offer, so it is about time you listened to your own advice and get in some relaxation!
