I have worked in the Hair and Beauty Industry for more years then I care to remember.
I started out as the ‘salon junior’ in a small village salon. My first boss said the job description was that I was the ‘washer’ – that meant washing hair, washing rollers, combs and brushes, washing floors, washing cups and everything else in the salon that needed washing. And yes I washed everything (although at the tender age of 15 I drew the line at cleaning the toilet!). I worked here throughout my college years I completed a three year course at West Kent College in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy and I moved on to pastures new after six years and after working my way up to stylist and barber. I went on to achieve a Certificate in Education and NVQ assessor. After becoming the salon manager and working for someone else for many years I set up my own business.
I love learning and have always been keen to keep up-to-date with new techniques, theories and knowledge.
The Butterfly-Supplies blog is based on the information I have absorbed along the way, subjects that interest me and I hope you find interesting to.
